Our Story

Coolture = Culture + Cool.

Culture isn't meant to be consumed passively or through screens. It's meant to be played with, worn proudly, and passed around the dinner table. That's why every product and experience we create is specifically designed for deeper cultural engagement and enrichment. We obsess over culture, aesthetics and creating a sense of wonder.

Whether you're:

 - Playing with cards and learning Sanskrit through Devabhaasha

- Using Indian metaphors to spark creative thinking in the Boardroom

 - Connecting with ancient time-keeping traditions through Parva Darshini

- Flaunting heritage with the Parampare styles

- Hosting a gathering with friends and jamming

We hope each treasure we painstakingly craft for you, rejuvenates our culture into something cool, contemporary, and refreshing – a box of ‘Adbhutha’ or wonder that fits perfectly into your life!

About the Founders

Coolture Designs is founded by Charusmitha Rao and Neelacantan B. It was born out of the many coffee conversations between Charu & Neel - about how so much can be done with Indian culture. And we knew one thing for certain: a deeper engagement with culture would underpin everything we create.

And we have remained true to that vision. We don’t resell — every product begins with us, from scratch. Each product is imagined, sketched, crafted, and refined until it carries heritage attuned to the contemporary. And in doing so, we do not deviate from the source. We add our layer of imagination - be it Devabhaasha, 108% Indian, Parampare or our upcoming products.

For us, design is not just about objects. Every product is a labor of love: a bridge between past and present, an expression of śṛṅgāra — beauty, connection, and aesthetic delight. At the same time, each creation carries the spirit of adbhuta — wonder: that spark of surprise and joy when culture reveals itself in new forms.

Coolture Designs is our way of saying: culture isn’t something distant or frozen in time. It’s alive, it’s playful, and it can live with you — bringing both wonder and beauty into the everyday.

What we Stand For

A deeper engagement with culture is non-negotiable in everything we create.

We don't resell or source – we create every product from scratch.

Each item is a labor of love, a bridge between heritage and contemporary life, and most importantly, an invitation to find joy in cultural connection.

Collaborators

Thotpot Designs

Our first — and biggest — creative collaborators. Playback, Devabhaasha, and 108% Indian became what they are thanks to Tapan’s precision and Niket’s quirks. Our upcoming creations, Akshara and Devabhaasha Shoonya, are also born from this partnership.

Harsh “Mutton” Pandya

The designer-illustrator behind the visual voice of - Devabhaasha, Playback, 108% Indian and the upcoming Devabhaasha Shoonya. Harsh brings a style that’s unmistakably his, and it shapes our products in ways only he can.
